Who is Marine Innovation?Marine Innovation is a company founded by a long time boater, with the simple goal of making boating easier, safer and more fun by offering products and services that help you with any aspect of boating that challenges this mission! We do this by distributing unique and helpful products that fulfill the company's mission. To that end, the first product offered by Marine Innovation is Boat Guard International's Boat Saver dock rollers. Boat Savers were designed to take the worry out of docking, often one of the most stressful parts of a day on the water. As a long time boater, and safety nut, the owner of Marine Innovation recognized the potential of the system and installed a set in his slip to try. After several months of use, often purposely "screwing up" dockings to demonstrate the system (his story and he's sticking to it), he was a believer and actively pursued representation of the product. After the first docking attempt saved by the rollers, the first thought that went through his mind was "this system makes me look good, even when I'm bad!" Other products will soon follow, with the same theme of making your boating life better, so please check back occasionally, or fill out our contact form if you would like to receive periodic email updates when new products or services are introduced. You have my word I won't sell your email address, pepper you with garbage mail, and will always offer you a method of removing yourself from the list. After all, any other way would be against our mission! Back to TopWho is Boat Guard International ?Boat Guard International is an Oklahoma based company, that has developed and patented the Boat Saver Dock Roller system. After over 17 years in the marine business, the founders of Boat Guard International saw a need for a system that reduced docking damage and injuries he witnessed during their career. After much study and development, the Boat Saver Dock Roller system was born, which provides the best protection in the market place for your boat, your body, and even your ego when docking in any conditions. Back to TopWhat size is the boat in your video? The boat in the video is a 27' run-about that weighs approximately 5500 lbs. The driving in the video is purposely exaggerated to show you just how effective Boat Savers are. The boat was repeatedly slammed into the rollers, at different angles of attack to test and demonstrate how even the worst of approaches can turn into the smoothest of dockings with Boat Savers guiding you into your slip. Back to TopHow large of a boat will Boat Saver's handle?Boat Savers have been installed on slips in excess of 60 feet long, for boats 60 ft and longer in length. They are designed to handle houseboats of any size, and cruisers up to about 65 feet (depending on the boat and dock design). Please contact Marine Innovation to discuss your particular situation if you are unsure if Boat Savers will handle your boat or slip. Back to TopWill Boat Savers work with my dock?Boat Savers were designed to adapt to many styles of dock. Whether your dock is fixed or floating, covered or uncovered, with poles at the edge of the walkway or in the middle, there are mounting options available for Boat Savers. Back to TopHow hard are Boat Savers to install?Boat Savers are quite easy to install. The corner and side post models require no drilling and are provided with specially designed brackets to mount them to the vertical posts of your dock. Boat Savers are built to last, out of heavy gauge galvanized steel. As such, it is generally a two-man job to install them so one person can support the weight of the roller, while the other inserts the first set of bolts. Once one bracket is mounted, the second person simple holds the roller at the appropriate level while the bolts are snugged down. Because of the weight of your Boat Saver rollers, and the fact that they are being installed over water, it is recommended that you tie a line to the boat saver, and secure the other end to your dock (not your body!). This way, if the roller is accidentally dropped, it can be easily retrieved. Full installation Instructions, are available here: Installation Instructions Of course, installation is also available through Marine Innovation and our Partners. Back to TopRevised: 01/28/08. |
